Production Geologist/Senior Mining Engineer

The

What you will be doing:

The role ensures Orica's suite of technologies are introduced and represented professionally in the mining industry.

  • The role includes the following responsibilities:
  • Identification and implementation of systems, processes, and procedures for scalable release of new solutions to Orica's markets in Latin America.
  • Project management of various workstreams required for the overall program, including:
  • Coordination of customer projects and opportunities
  • Coordination of daily tasks and business priorities
  • Execution of market analysis, technical solutions, and quality consultation
  • Risk identification and implementation of contingencies
  • Reporting and communicating business status to group stakeholders
  • Provide input into the product development roadmap, support models, and emerging technologies
  • Coordinating 3rd party technology providers and/or consultants

Metrics:

  • Successful completion of program milestones
  • Customer adoptions, revenue targets across targeted Orica markets and customers
  • Customer satisfaction and retention
  • Compliance with statutory, customer and Orica standards and processes for SH&E
  • Training and mentoring
  • Case studies and papers published

What you will bring:

  • Production geology and grade control experience (resource modelling, resource estimation, reconciliation & geostatistics)
  • Customer relationship management experience
  • Project management experience
  • Technical writing and presentation skills
  • Drill and blast experience
  • Office and fieldbased training and mentoring experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to travel internationally to remote locations when required, estimated travel of 20%.
  • Languages: English and Spanish (Portuguese desired)
