ERM is seeking a motivated and well-rounded Senior Social Performance Consultant to join our team in Lima.

The daily responsibilities will include project management, undertaking social and human rights impact assessments, resettlement planning, return of social investments and development and implementation of management and monitoring activities, report preparation (in Spanish and English), and support in proposal writing and client business development as well as team development. This role offers a unique opportunity to be involved in innovative and exciting projects that ERM is currently working on. Access to ERM's international consulting experts provides knowledge sharing of best practices across industry sectors and provides ongoing learning opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- This role entails developing ERM’s social impact services across a range of sectors and clients in Peru working closely with ERM’s other technical community leaders in the country and more regionally.
- Work with ERM’s business development teams and leaders across Latin America to maintain existing client relationships as well as grow new client portfolios in Peru and more broadly resulting in the growth of ERM’s opportunity pipeline. This will require an individual with good communication skills, client/market understanding and proposal development skills.
- You will also be required to provide guidance in mentoring and building a team of social practitioners within the Andean Business Unit. This will in turn support the growth of the social performance Latin American team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Anthropology or related.
- At least 8 years of relevant working experience in social performance.
- Strong understanding of national regulations and laws related to stakeholder consultation, land acquisition and Corporate Social Responsibility.
- Practical planning, design and implementation of SIA, SEP, resettlement, and land acquisition (RAPs and LRAPs) in Peru in the mining sector.
- Good working knowledge of international standards such as the Word Banks’ Operational Policies, the IFC’s Performance Standards and the Equator Principles.
- Developing ESMPs and ESAPs and monitoring and evaluating their implementation.
- Experience in designing and implementing grievance mechanisms.
- Experience in livelihood restoration design and program implementation and monitoring.
- Strong Project Management and communication skills.
- Flexibility to handle multiple assignments while meeting strict deadlines.
- A willingness to travel within Peru is essential for short terms assignments - spend time out of the office up to 50% of time.
- Reporting and verbal communication in fluent Spanish and English is mandatory.
