Senior Cloud Architect, Professional Services

AWS Professional Services team members leverage their deep knowledge of AWS technologies in collaboration with our sales and partner teams to propose, architect, and implement customers' workloads on cloud. Helping make customer success a reality using AWS cloud as an enabler and seeing the impact in real-time drives our teams to explore new frontiers in leveraging AWS for our customers.
The Senior Cloud Architect is a new growth role within the Professional Services umbrella, and is principally oriented around a qualify-deliver-manage model. The individual is responsible for partnering with Professional Services leaders to dive deep into a customer’s business challenge, to collaboratively propose and pre-qualify a particular set of outcomes that would result from a formal Professional Services engagement. Thereafter, the individual remains meaningfully engaged with that customer, Amazon team and project/program to ensure high-value, predictable, and successful delivery.
This is not a pure consultant role, nor is it a pure selling role. It is an individual with unique data and analytics expertise, hands-on building, coupled with cross-industry business acumen, including a heavy dose of passion for continued knowledge acquisition and growth, obsession for customers, and their success using AWS that will align well with the desired outcomes to be produced.

Key Job Responsibilities
1. As a key member of the Account and Professional Services teams, ensure success in designing, building, optimizing, transforming or migrating customers' workloads to AWS platform.
2. Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS.
3. Participate in deep architectural discussions and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS while ensuring such solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud and drive business outcomes.
4. Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and proof of concepts.
5. In partnership with the Professional Services leadership and account team, formulate and execute a strategy to accelerate customer outcomes through the adoption of AWS in conjunction with Professional Services engagements.
6. Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
7. Capture and share best-practice knowledge, sales and delivery content amongst the AWS Professional Services community.
This is a customer-facing role. You will be required to travel to client locations to deliver professional services when needed.
Expertise
1. Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Athena, Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB NoSQL, Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon EMR and Amazon Redshift, etc.
Solutions
1. Deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer requirements, creating packaged Data & Analytics service offerings.
Delivery
1. Engagements include short on-site projects proving the use of AWS services to support new distributed computing solutions that often span private cloud and public cloud services. Engagements will include migration of existing applications and development of new applications using AWS cloud services.
Insights
1. Work with AWS engineering and support teams to convey partner and customer needs and feedback as input to technology roadmaps. Share real-world implementations and recommend new capabilities that would simplify adoption and drive greater value from use of AWS cloud services.
Innovate
1. Engaging with the customer’s business and technology stakeholders to create a compelling vision of a data-driven enterprise in their environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree, or 7+ years of professional technical specialist, design, and architecture experience.
2. 7+ years of consulting customer-facing, design, and implementation of serverless distributed solutions experience.
3. 3+ years of cloud and on-premise integration experience and integration, testing, and automation experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. 5+ years of software development with object-oriented language experience.
2. AWS Professional level certification.
3. Experience with GenAI.
