About Regnskog: Regnskog is one of Europe's leading organizations dedicated to protecting the world's rainforests and strengthening the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities.

As a key player in the Amazon region, we are seeking an experienced Program Director to lead our Peru and Colombia program. This pivotal role involves strategic planning, program implementation, and effective management of both people and budgets.

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled leader to oversee our Peru and Colombia program, guiding our efforts to protect the Amazon and support indigenous and local communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the country program strategy, ensuring coherence with Regnskog's overall mission and objectives.
  • Lead a dedicated team, supervising thematic advisers and functional specialists operating in a distributed set-up between Peru, Colombia, and Norway.
  • Oversee project implementation, engaging with local partners and communities, and ensure compliance with donor requirements and organizational standards.
  • Prepare high-quality reports on program activities, outcomes, and impact for donors, partners, and Regnskog senior management.
  • Collaborate with other Regnskog Team Leaders to share best practices, coordinate efforts, and contribute to regional and global initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Higher education desirable.
  • Multiple years of relevant experience with demonstrated success in development field or political science.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and results-based management.
  • Good leadership and team management skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Strategic engagement experience with a wide range of stakeholders and ability to build relations.
  • Familiarity with the socio-political context of Peru and Colombia and experience working with indigenous people and local communities.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English and Spanish is required.
