About the Role

Corus World Health is seeking a seasoned professional to serve as its Technical Director for the anticipated $10-$24.99 million USAID-funded Strengthening Systems for Health Security Activity in Peru.

The ideal candidate will lead and oversee all technical components for the project, ensuring technical soundness of activities and alignment with objectives and benchmarks. They will work collaboratively with the project team and consortium partners to design and implement programs preventing, detecting, and responding to infectious diseases, while strengthening health systems in these areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide program oversight and supervision in the design and day-to-day management of activities, coordinating implementation and ensuring smooth operation.
  • Advise on human resources allocation, training, and deployment, following proper protocol for resource spending and project compliance.
  • Ensure development and implementation of key project deliverables, including workplans, quarterly and annual plans, and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plans.

Technical Expertise

  • Provide overall strategic and technical leadership, supervising program activities to ensure achievement of project objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with USAID, Government of Peru national government agencies, and public health partners to maximize resources, identify best practices, and collaborate on cross-learning initiatives.
  • Participate in national infectious disease-linked technical working groups and coordination meetings, helping the government develop/refine policies and accountability tools for prevention, detection, and response.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field such as infectious disease or tropical medicine; public health; applied or field epidemiology; animal health or veterinary sciences; environmental science; one health; or health systems strengthening.
  • Strong background in the prevention, detection, and response to infectious diseases, with a solid understanding of epidemiology.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a senior role designing, implementing, evaluating, and managing large, complex, and integrated programs of similar scope, preferably in global health security in public and private facilities.

Salary Range: The estimated salary range for this position is between $120,000 - $250,000 per year, based on location, experience, and qualifications.
