**WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER**:
He/She performs high-level financial analysis, compares estimates to actual results, and recommends corrective action as appropriate. Responsible for the management, maintenance and reporting of specific financial data related to the Region Office and for regional projects that involves more than one business unit, which requires coordination of information related to the projects with other finance peers in the region. This includes annual budget development and quarterly forecast, monitoring and maintaining all financial information and processing of internal financial forms. Provides recommendations related to finances in the overall organizational planning, policy development and implementation. This position coordinates may be involved in analysis and evaluation of special projects as requested. This position reports to the Director of Finance and Operations for Latin America Region Office.

**WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU**:

- The Finance Specialist provides specialized finance/accounting-related services to Latin America Region Office (LARO) of The Nature Conservancy.
- **RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE**
- Ensures programmatic commitments, TNC policies and procedures, financial standards and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.
- Reinforces consistency in the organization's policies and procedures and provides support related to relevant field.
- Strong coordination skills to manage projects with other business units
- High degree of autonomy in providing information and support for the Regional Office team
- Excel data analysis and financial models experience.
- Prepares and monitors monthly accounting reports and key asset and liability account balances
- Responsible for the administrative aspects of subawards to partner organizations, including assistance with due diligence activities, preparation and revision of agreements, review and approval of invoices.
- Monthly preparation of Project Manager reports using spreadsheet server. Perform in-depth analysis of expenses, revenue and net assets of all awards to ensure accuracy of financial information and proper award management
- Prepare Quarterly reports for LAR finance, monthly end of close reports for DFO.
- Prepare yearly budget, quarterly forecast and other ad-hoc financial reports for LAR RO
- Coordinate reports, financial management of private grants

**WHAT YOU'LL BRING**:
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and 3 years' related experience or equivalent combination.
- Experience with accounting/financial issues and analysis.
- Experience using accounting and financial reporting systems.
- Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is desirable.
- Technical experience with spreadsheet programs, general ledger reports, and financial management tools.

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural experience appreciated.
- Experience developing and implementing complex projects and strategic initiatives in an unstructured environment.
- Experience designing and implementing complex data management solutions in an unstructured environment.
- Experience in financial analytics.
- Experience with relational databases.
- Ability to communicate clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and Spanish/Portuguese.
