Our client, a boutique web development and new media marketing company is seeking talented

**Data Analyst** for their office.

As an Intermediate Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in our billing team and report directly to the COO. We are looking for someone with strong database and MySQL knowledge, who can effectively manage and monitor our in-house predictive modeling operations for critical business outcomes with high accuracy.

Your contributions will enhance the operational usage of our models and support other team members as needed.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate our statistical models daily, providing support and accountability for outcomes.
- Develop guidelines, standards, and processes to further develop and optimize our models.
- Optimize data structures for statistical analysis.
- Integrate data feeds from external partners, such as transaction feeds from credit card processors.
- Gather and analyze website and financial performance data to prepare regular reports for the statistics team.
- Audit financial data for reconciliation and risk monitoring purposes.
- Analyze user behavior to propose improvements to prediction and risk models.
- Assist in formalizing and documenting departmental procedures.
- Use available data to assist the development team in troubleshooting software bugs.
- Conduct routine maintenance of databases and analysis tools.
- Design report visualizations, including charts and graphs.
- Structure queries and set up highly technical systems.
- Process data sources within MySQL queries to arrange data according to business requirements.
- Perform tests, validate data flows, and prepare ETL processes based on business requirements.
- Collaborate with the Manager to develop the organization's data warehouse and related extraction, transformation, and data loading functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Job Requirements**:

- Strong knowledge of relational database development, MySQL, database design, and optimization.
- Experience in ETL development.
- Proficiency in Bash/Unix shell scripting.
- Familiarity with API integration.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong ability to manage timelines and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent math, logic, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of financial risk models, with actuary experience considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Node.js is a plus.
- Nice to have: 5+ years of experience.
