The Volunteer's Role

Cuso International is looking for a committed individual who is deeply passionate about advocating for vulnerable youth in Lima, Peru. In this volunteer position, you will have the chance to aid the endeavours and programs of the KALLPA association while playing a crucial role in promoting equality for all individuals.

As a volunteer, your responsibilities will include:

• Contribute to the collection and development of content and images for the organization's newsletter. Manage the distribution of the newsletter and communications to the appropriate agencies.
• Conduct assessments and monitor our social media presence while implementing communication and marketing strategies.
• Promote the utilization of a digital planner. Streamline and standardize processes for the distribution and delivery of materials.
• Help update the organization's Communications Plan and Visual Identity Manual.

Essential Requirements:

• Degree in Communication, Journalism, or Marketing
• Familiarity with communication plans, digital marketing, and institutional positioning
• Knowledge of community mental health, gender violence prevention, employment and entrepreneurship, environment, and sexual and reproductive rights

Support Package

Cuso International provides a comprehensive support package to ensure volunteers maintain a modest and healthy lifestyle aligned with local standards. This includes: 

• Monthly living allowance 
• Accommodation 
• Health insurance (including required vaccinations and antimalarial medication) 
• Round-trip airfare and visa/work permit costs 
• Pre-placement, in-country and reintegration training (along with access to self-directed materials and online resources)

Selection and Screening

If you are shortlisted, you will need to: 

• Confirm passport or permanent resident details for travel 
• Provide two professional references and one personal reference 
• Complete a language assessment during the initial phone interview 
• Pass a police check and medical clearance before departure 
• Comply with anti-terrorism checks 
• Agree to uphold the Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy and Code of Conduct 

Residency and Citizenship: Candidates are responsible for confirming how volunteering internationally may affect their citizenship or residency status. Canadian Permanent Residents should verify requirements with Immigration Canada before travel.
