Senior Accountant – High Transaction Volume

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support a fast‑paced, high transaction‑volume, B2C environment. This role is hands‑on and focused on month‑end close, reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has strong US GAAP knowledge, thrives in cash‑intensive operations, and is detail‑oriented with a continuous‑improvement mindset. Accuracy and ownership are critical in this role.

Work Setup


• Schedule: Monday–Friday


• 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST


• Work Model: On‑site


• Level: Senior (Individual Contributor)

Key Responsibilities


• Prepare, record, and post journal entries, including daily cash transactions


• Perform bank reconciliations and support daily and monthly cash accounting


• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities, including:

1. Bank reconciliations

2. Journal entries

3. Prepaid amortization

4. Fixed assets and depreciation


• Improve close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting


• Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations with supporting detail


• Maintain reconciliations for multiple balance sheet accounts


• Conduct variance analysis (actuals vs. forecast)


• Perform fluctuation analysis and identify root causes of variances


• Partner with Payment Operations and IT teams to ensure data integrity


• Troubleshoot GL imports and financial data flows


• Recommend improvements to reporting, system functionality, and processes


• Prepare detailed audit workpapers


• Support and strengthen internal controls and accounting documentation


• Provide ad‑hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed

Required Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)


• 3+ years of hands‑on accounting experience (non‑managerial)


• Strong knowledge of US GAAP


• Mandatory experience in a high transaction‑volume environment


• Mandatory B2C and/or heavy cash‑volume business experience


• Experience supporting fast‑paced, high‑volume accounting operations


• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills

Technical Skills


• Advanced Excel proficiency (formulas, lookups, pivot tables)


• ERP system experience (SAGE100 strongly preferred)


• Proven ability to work with large datasets

Soft Skills


• Excellent written and verbal communication


• Strong sense of urgency and ownership


• Highly organized and detail‑oriented


• Problem‑solving mindset with focus on continuous improvement


• Ability to work independently and cross‑functionally
