You ensure that customer plans are developed and executed by supporting the delivery of strategies and tactics for growth. You understand the business metrics and financial drivers needed to unlock profitable growth for Mondelēz International and our customers and work with key account managers to implement plans to deliver our annual target.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Leads the development of the trade marketing part of the category annual plans (contract process)
  • Understands market dynamics / consumer insights by channel to participate on trade marketing strategic decisions
  • Leads the business planning meeting where the sales quotas are built in order to accomplish the annual plans based on relevant building blocks
  • Suggests and influences investment in category building blocks, according to category and channel need, and is accountable of execution excellence at point of sale
  • Follows up the competition's commercial activity in the category in order to detect business opportunities and potential threats for the brand
  • Plays a leadership role within the multi categories teams by leading, providing accurate and relevant channel point of sale information that will lead to find business opportunities such as innovations, customer promotions, portfolio, pricing, etc. that will lead to achieve multi categories targets

What you need to know about this position:

The Category Management Lead is responsible for developing category strategies to maximize sales and profitability in alignment with the company's commercial objectives. As the Category Captain/Advisor for strategic partners, this role is accountable for category results with the sole objective of benefiting both retail and manufacturer, optimizing the shopper and consumer experience.

  • Responsible for the Category Management team and managing the company's key accounts.
  • Negotiate with major retailers (strategic partners) to align category development objectives, building long-term relationships based on mutual growth and shared profitability.
  • Responsible for developing category growth strategies, aligned with Company and retail objectives, based on Shopper needs; to drive sales growth, improve profitability, and increase market share.
  • Advise and provide actionable information to the retailer (market information, shopper insights) to deliver fact-based recommendations and reports on products, pricing, zoning, among others; always ensuring the achievement of category objectives and growth.
  • Lead the roll-out/implementation of Category Management plans at the point of sale in categories where the company participates.
  • Lead the implementation of Category Management plans at the point of sale for the company's categories, including the development and optimization of planograms and shelf designs adapted to each retailer.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance teams, ensuring that Category Management initiatives are aligned with company/brand strategies.

Job specific requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Commercial, Marketing, Economics, or related fields.
  • Minimum 7-8 years of professional experience in commercial areas (Category Management, Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Category Planning, Trade Marketing, Sales).
  • Advanced proficiency in Office (especially Excel). Desirable experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools, and the ability to analyze large volumes of information for decision-making.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to inspire and lead teams, as well as negotiate and effectively influence at various levels of the organization and with external clients.
  • Results-oriented and problem-solving skills.
  • Acute business acumen, with a deep understanding of retail dynamics and consumer/shopper behavior.
  • Required experience in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).
  • Advanced English (Oral/Written).
