ROLE SUMMARY:

Altair School is strategically located in La Molina, Lima, Peru, and its campus has an area of 15,000 square meters. It is a regular, bilingual and mixed education school. It has the IB Continuing Program accredited for its three programs: PYP (Primary Years Program), MYP (Middle Years Program) and Diploma.

The Sports Department Coordinator will work collaboratively with colleagues across departments and year levels, demonstrating strong interpersonal, organisational, and teamwork skills.

They must bring a genuine passion for sports, student wellbeing, and the holistic development of learners—fostering teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and an appreciation for healthy lifestyles. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in the use of technological and administrative tools to support programme coordination.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the planning and execution of the annual sports programme.
• Coordinate timetables, training sessions, team selections, and tournament schedules.
• Ensure smooth organisation of internal and inter-school events, matches, and sports days.
• Oversee logistics including venue preparation, equipment distribution, transportation, and scheduling.
• Work closely with PE teachers, external coaches, team captains, and administrative staff.
• Liaise with parents regarding team information, schedules, permissions, and updates.
• Serve as point of contact for local leagues, federations, and partner schools.
• Maintain updated calendars, team rosters, and communication platforms.
• Prepare reports, attendance records, and documentation for events and tournaments.
• Manage sign-ups, consent forms, medical records, and other sports-related documentation.
• Contribute to initiatives that strengthen student participation, performance, and wellbeing.
• Assist in monitoring student progress, behaviour, and sportsmanship expectations.
• Ensure safe practice in all sports activities, aligned with school and IB policies.
• Coordinate first-aid readiness, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
• Oversee proper maintenance and inventory of sports equipment and facilities.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, Education, or related field.
• Experience in school sports programmes, coaching, or sports administration preferred.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to work with teachers, students, and families.
• Proactive, service-oriented, and capable of multitasking under pressure.
• Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in digital tools (Google Workspace, MS Office, management systems).
