These projects have seen immense growth and have helped shape DIY home‑automation communities around the world. After being involved in the Internet of Things industry for many years we realized that there is a need for a cloud service that puts users, their privacy, and their data first. Our cloud service, Home Assistant Cloud, is built as an extension to the platform that does the same. Nabu Casa is a profitable company with no external investors; our funding comes directly from users who subscribe to Home Assistant Cloud and purchase Home Assistant hardware. We also support other open‑source projects, including hardware, standards, and voice technology. The Role We are looking for an experienced and visionary Senior Product Manager based in Europe to lead the strategy for our Cloud and Hardware products. In this role you will build the product function for these critical initiatives. A Unique Opportunity: Building the Product Function from Scratch You will have significant autonomy in product strategy, processes, and decision‑making frameworks. You will prioritize across competing demands from engineers, community, and leadership. You will build metrics and feedback loops that inform our roadmap. You will create the operating model for async, distributed decision‑making. You will evangelize PM practices and build confidence in data‑driven decision making. Responsibilities Identify and execute a product strategy for Cloud and Hardware, from ideation to delivery with engineers, program managers, and leadership. Lead day‑to‑day product development, actively participating in necessary tasks. Collaborate closely with the Open Home Foundation to align and integrate our products with their technologies. Help our Program Manager shape the product roadmap and plan meaningful deadlines. Involve the worldwide community in product discovery and delivery. Requirements 5‑10+ years of senior product management experience driving strategy and vision. Experience building or scaling product functions; early PM at a growing company or leading organizational change. Experience delivering products in the B2C SaaS space. Meaningful experience with complete autonomy and iterative development/releases. Proficiency working with multi‑disciplinary teams (UX designers, researchers, marketing, engineers). Strong communication skills, adaptable to different audiences. Comfort with public speaking during workshops, meetups, livestreams, etc. Professional fluency in English. European residency and eligibility to work in Europe. Nice to Haves A passion for smart homes and automation. Experience as a Home Assistant user. Curiosity and passion for learning. What We Offer Fully remote organization with no fixed schedule; at least 3 hours of daily overlap for communication. Standard benefits required by the country of residence plus a minimal set of global benefits: Five weeks of paid time off. Fourteen days of paid sick leave if applicable. Hardware budget at onboarding; after three years you may keep equipment. Annual smart‑home budget. 50% contribution to home internet fees. One day every two weeks for personal projects. Option to spend work time maintaining Home Assistant‑related side projects. Compensation – Countries (approximate) Greece: €58,000. Hungary: 24,810,000 HUF. Netherlands: €97,000. Portugal: €83,600.
