**Your role**:
The position is a meaningful role for the Moody´s Local Business Development Group.

The key objective of this role is to close out on high value and often sophisticated business transactions after a principal agreement with the customer has been reached on products and general pricing. In that sense the Business Development Officers (BDO’s) will focus on proactive target outreach, identifying key decision makers, undertaking, and winning the marketing pitch.

The AVP - Business Developer will have to focus on closing transactions via interaction with the potential customer, the advisor, and internal constituents (Legal, Relationship Management, Product Management, Compliance, Middle office, Line of business). In other words, deals will be sourced and brought to closure by the Moody´s Local Commercial team. This role will support the Commercial Group across Moodys Local.

Need to bring new rating mandates to closure by:

- Fine tuning the choice of rating services depending on customer’s evolving needs.
- Finding new business opportunities by meeting clients, prospects, and market participants.
- Build positive relationships with market participants (customers, Investment bankers, investors, asset managers, etc.).
- Following up on found opportunities (Tying any loose ends).
- Finalizing legal discussions (contracts, Non-Disclosure Agreements).
- Finalizing fee discussion.
- Finalizing deal allocation and logistics with the LOB.
- Be the face of Moody’s vis a vis the issuers, advisors, and internal constituents (Legal, BDOs, Product Management, Compliance, Middle office, Line of business).
- Find opportunities to improve our client on-boarding process (suggestions for simplification of processes, fees, services).
- Work very closely with the Commercial team to win mandates.
- Improve our customer service by: Reducing our response time to new customers queries.
- Being in constant contact with our clients, to address their needs and to make sure they are being looked after, by the different points of contact within Moodys Local.

**What you bring**:
Moody´s Local Experience needed (products and systems knowledge)

Extensive Experience in three or more of the following areas:

- Very strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong background in a Sales or Business Development role in financial Services.
- Ability to bring a deal/transaction/process to closure.
- A sound understanding of credit risk issues and Capital markets.
- Exposure to and extensive knowledge of the role and functions of Rating Agencies
- Validated experience in working under tight deadlines.
- Working in a multi-cultural environment
- Strong academic background. Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Economics, Marketing, International Relations or equivalent.
- Work experience with Salesforce or equivalent CRM system is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and marketing skills.
- Good judgment -capable of developing independent opinion and defending own views.
- Ability to communicate and negotiate at the highest levels of the corporate hierarchy: e.g. CEO, CFO, Treasurer.
- Strong sense of urgency, and a pro-active "can do" approach.
- Strong team-player.
- Phenomenal attention to detail
- Professional, pro-active, flexible, diligent, and detailed.
- Adapt to changing market conditions and business environment.
- Being able to work autonomously and to cope with ambitious marketing goals.
- Work on own initiative, without the need for close supervision.
- Highly organized and efficient, with ability to multi-task and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to understand and communicate the fundamentals of Moody's approach, methodologies, and methodology changes.
- Spanish and English spoken, and written proficiency is crucial.
