ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Venue Manager to lead the end-to-end performance of one of Melbourne Park's most significant and iconic venues; AAMI Park. Reporting to the Director of Venues, this senior leadership role is accountable for the operational, people, customer and commercial performance of AAMI Park Stadium. The role plays a critical part in translating Melbourne Park's organisational strategy into a clear venue strategy, while contributing venue insight to precinct wide planning, major event delivery and continuous improvement. Working across the venue and the broader precinct, the Venue Manager partners closely with Customer Experience, Hospitality, Safety, Commercial, Precinct and Support teams to deliver seamless event execution, strong client and guest outcomes, and sustainable commercial performance. This role requires confident leadership, sound judgement and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, high profile, high pressure and fast paced environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Venue Leadership & Performance - Lead the overall performance of AAMI Park, ensuring safe, high‑quality and commercially sustainable delivery across operations, people, commercial and customer outcomes. - Lead the operational planning and delivery of major and complex events hosted at AAMI Park, ensuring robust risk, safety, security and compliance outcomes across all event operations. - Build and lead a high‑performing venue management team and event workforce, fostering accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. - Develop and deliver venue‑level strategy aligned to Melbourne Park's broader precinct and organisational priorities. - Contribute venue insight and leadership to broader organisational strategy, major event planning, innovation initiatives and short to long term venue development. Client, Club & Tenant Relationships - Build and maintain trusted relationships with clubs, clients, tenants and partners, balancing stakeholder needs with operational, safety and organisational requirements. - Act as the venue‑based client lead for events, partnering closely with the Commercial team to deliver aligned, high‑quality client outcomes. Customer Experience & Commercial Outcomes - Partner with Customer Experience, Hospitality, Precinct and Commercial teams to deliver strong guest experiences and optimise commercial performance. - Use insights, feedback and performance data to drive continuous improvement in venue delivery. ABOUT YOU You are a senior venue or event leader with a proven track record in managing complex, high‑profile environments. You bring strong commercial acumen, sound judgement, a collaborative leadership style and have a problem‑solving mindset. You thrive in settings where safety, customer outcomes and performance excellence matter. You will bring: - Significant experience in venue or event leadership within a stadium, arena or major entertainment environment. - Proven people leadership experience, including leading leaders and large, diverse workforces. - Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working with sporting clubs, tenants, partners and internal teams. - Sound commercial understanding, including revenue optimisation and cost management. - Strong operational, planning and problem‑solving capability in high‑pressure environments. - Excellent communication, influencing and decision‑making skills. - Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience). Advantageous but not essential: - Tertiary qualifications in events, venue management or a related field. - Relevant certifications and licences such as Chief/Fire Warden, Workplace Health & Safety.
