Who are we?

Meteor Software is the company behind Meteor.js, a leading global open-source Javascript Framework and Meteor Cloud, the only full-service cloud solution engineered for Meteor apps. Meteor is already used by over 500,000 developers worldwide, with Meteor Cloud growing consistently along with it.

Our team is looking for a Marketing Specialist to help us double our reach on social media, spread more awareness about the Meteor.js framework, and grow our community of awesome developers. This person will also be responsible for all things marketing for the open-source side.

The role will have three primary responsibilities, with other assigned projects as we move forward. We’re a small team and are looking for someone who moves quickly and is willing to fill gaps as needed.

Ideally, you have experience in the following:
Social Media Management
Plan, create, design and publish social media posts.
Assist with organizing promotional events, projects, and campaigns.
Work with relevant influencers or complementary brands to grow Meteor
- s social following.
Content Creation
Researching content and consumer trends to ensure that content is relevant and appealing.
Creating content for a variety of platforms including blog posts, infographics, websites, videos, and podcasts.
Developing content strategies to effectively reach the desired target audience and marketing goals.
Community Management
Planning and co-hosting online Meteor events with our community.
Engaging with users, potential customers, and developers on social media.
Alerting our support team of any technical issues or concerns noted on social media.

Other Marketing Related Tasks

Conduct marketing research to identify new opportunities.
Frequently coordinate with the Meteor team.
Effectively manage daily administrative tasks.
Monitor competitors’ marketing activities.

Must-haves:
2+ years of experience in digital marketing.
Knowledge of digital marketing tools and strategies.
Excellent communication, written and administrative skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Experience with Twitter and growing Twitter accounts
Experience with designing social media posts (Photoshop, Canva, etc.)

Nice to haves:
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, or Javascript.
Tech-savvy and is updated with trends.
Experience working in SaaS or tech companies.
Able to adapt quickly and pivot if needed.

We have employees around the world and are happy working remotely. This position doesn’t have any specific region or time zone restrictions. However, we would like you to overlap at least 4 working hours with EST whenever possible.
