Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Peru Mining Sector BD Lead will be to lead and grow our regional mining sector practice and provide leadership and guidance as it relates to growing our mining services group. In this role, the selected candidate will work with our Peru and Latin America leadership team, collaborate with our engineering discipline leads and their respective teams, and be responsible for the overall vision and growth strategy for our Mining practice in Peru. The selected candidate will also function as a mentor to staff, manage mining sector clients, and help support mining projects and programs that may include or require:
  • Comprehensive mining planning, design, and construction
  • Understanding of state and national regulations
  • Relationships with regional and national clients and professionals
Business Development Return on Investment (BDROI)
  • Lead profitability of the Mining sector projects within Peru and delivery of financial plan including bookings, revenue generation.
  • Provides leadership and supports mining sector in developing sales, preparing business development forecasts and opportunity tracking, and effectively assigning business development resources to achieve wins and bookings with appropriate returns on investment
Operations
  • Plans for and directs mining sector practice management, providing operational, project delivery, and technical leadership which includes: project management and delivery, technical excellence, client satisfaction, quality, safety, resource allocation, and employee development and training
  • Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with senior level region, business line and technical experts within the company and with other organizations and companies
  • Responsible for the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees and the projects and programs managed
Business Strategy and Development (Win Work)
  • Responsible for sales bookings and top-line growth through opportunity development and capture (execution of strategy)
  • Tracking technical competence, leadership, innovation, and industry visibility and prominence
  • Client Account Management (CAM) client development and management
  • Business development priorities and resources
  • Market research, intelligence, competitive assessment, investment strategy, geopolitical, civic leadership and presence
  • Closely engaged with key clients, understanding client needs and expectations that will result in repeat business opportunities
  • Leads the Peru mining market growth, specifically providing marketing and business development support and intelligence, developing effective capture plans, proposals, and bids to procure work
  • Actively participates in professional associations related to the mining business and practice areas of specialization, staying at the forefront of the professional and technical standards, serving as a champion of advancing the profession and developing and assisting in recruiting employees in the business unit
  • Supports and collaborates with counterparts in similar business units across the operating group and across business units to grow the top line and gain market share
Project Delivery (Do Work)
  • Works with leadership team to ensure effective project delivery and client service, Project staffing, workload balancing, and technical work
Minimum Requirements
  • Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 8+ years of proven experience with business development in the mining sector.
  • Demonstrated experience with client relations and management.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 12+ years of related work experience required, with at least ten years of which shall include preparation of mining reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates iWhat we offer
