**The Opportunity**:
The **Java** Technical Lead* will coach and lead a team developing an Electronic Health Records (EHR) software. The Lead will mentor and guide the team, enabling them to make good design decisions and implement code with technical and process excellence. Furthermore, the Lead will act as a Subject Matter Expert working with other departments and teams.

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Take a hands-on approach, working day to day with an engineering team in daily standups, sprint planning and backlog refinement meetings to provide technical leadership.
- Work on new and existing software, as part of a collaborative Scrum team.
- Mentor the team members in areas of architecture, design, and process best practices.
- Collaborate with Scrum team to determine the implementation and amount of work for each sprint.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner for providing high-level planning and roadmap estimates.
- Contribute to a continuous improvement mindset within engineering.
- Ensure best practices and coding standards, including code reviews.
- Represent the team and communicate team activities and issues in leadership meetings.

**Skills we need**:

- Technical or bachelor’s degree in Systems, Software Engineering, or another industry related career.
- Upper intermediate English.
- Solid experience working with Java 8 or above.
- Further experience with other programming languages: Java, PL/SQL, JavaScript and SQL ANSI.
- Proficient with frameworks Spring and ReactJS (or equivalent JavaScript framework).
- Proficient with Oracle database.
- Further experience with MariaDB, MongoDB or equivalent non-relational database engines.
- Experience with CI tools.
- Knowledge of streaming systems such as Apache Storm, RabbitMQ, Kafka.
- Source control experience using Git.
- Static code analysis experience with tools such as SonarQube.
- Agile experience (Scrum or others).
- Experience with microservices architecture pattern.
- Upper intermediate English.
